dyne:bolic Linux... Try for it..

Be welcome in a GNU world with dyne:bolic!

You don't need to install anything, you don't even need an harddisk to run a whole free software operating system running out of the box on your PC! Download the ISO-image, burn your own CD, reboot your machine and you'll get back true love ;^)

dyne:bolic is shaped on the needs of media activists, artists and creatives as a practical tool for multimedia production: you can manipulate and broadcast both sound and video with tools to record, edit, encode and stream, having automatically recognized most device and peripherals: audio, video, TV, network cards, firewire, usb and more; all using only free software!

You can employ this operating system without the need to install anything, and if you want to run it from harddisk you just need to copy a directory: the easiest installation ever seen!

It is optimized to run on slower computers, turning them into full media stations: the minimum you need is a pentium1 or k5 PC 64Mb RAM and IDE CD-ROM, or a modded XBOX game console - and if you have more than one, you can easily do clusters.

The science of SETI@home

SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) is a scientific area whose goal is to detect intelligent life outside Earth. One approach, known as radio SETI, uses radio telescopes to listen for narrow-bandwidth radio signals from space. Such signals are not known to occur naturally, so a detection would provide evidence of extraterrestrial technology.
Radio telescope signals consist primarily of noise (from celestial sources and the receiver's electronics) and man-made signals such as TV stations, radar, and satellites. Modern radio SETI projects analyze the data digitally. More computing power enables searches to cover greater frequency ranges with more sensitivity. Radio SETI, therefore, has an insatiable appetite for computing power.
Previous radio SETI projects have used special-purpose supercomputers, located at the telescope, to do the bulk of the data analysis. In 1995, David Gedye proposed doing radio SETI using a virtual supercomputer composed of large numbers of Internet-connected computers, and he organized the SETI@home project to explore this idea. SETI@home was originally launched in May 1999.

What is the meaning of the word Pranava

Pranava is considered the elemental sound by the Hindus. It is made of of three different sounds viz. "a" or "ಅ" ( "अ"), "u" or "ಉ" ("उ") and m or "ಮ್" ("म्"). which together dorm the word "aum" or "ಓಂ" (""). The Basic sound that is chanted by the hindus even today.

It is niraakaara or what is that do not have a shape, as sounds do not have shapes.

The complex letter aum is said to have mystical powers, which is also proven by scientific researches across the world. Also to brig to your notice the word aum is considered to be existing from time unknown, it is considered to be matching with the sound of the great event of our origin of universe - "The BIG BANG".

The three parts of the sound have different meaning and come from different parts of the body.
The part "a" is from the throat, the part "u" comes from the lips and "m' comes from the nose; with the mouth shut.

The chanting of the word goes this way:
  1. Starting with "a" for few seconds from the root of the throat.
  2. The part "a" is followed by the part "u" from the inner mouth till the lips for fewer seconds compared to that of "a".
  3. Then it is followed by a long slow sound "m" comming to rest from the lips to the nose and then ending the whole chant for a long time. This part is streatched a lot as it is the ending which lasts long for a greater period of time dying to scilence.

The sound when chanted for a number of times in this manner will produce psycic vibrations within the body that bgings mystical powers to the whold body and also relaxes the minds of those who chant it as well as listen to it.
